I am 44 years old and a recovering alcoholic. It hasn’t defined me, however, it has allowed me to discover who I am in God’s eyes. And who I am is a man blessed by alcoholism. It may seem strange to read that, but alcoholism has afforded the opportunity to suffer with others, to cry with others, to laugh with others and to search. What I found was an awesome relationship with my God and His mercy and grace – as well as His purpose for me – to help others without fear. That is who I am.
